Bahrain became the epicentre of power sport in 2024 in December 2024, hosting the World Weightlifting Championships. It was an experience that left everyone in attendance with a deep emotional hangover. This event not only brought together the best lifters on the planet, but also offered a unique opportunity to experience the competition from the inside, in the same training room where the world’s strongest athletes prepare.
During the championships, a team of evaluators, including our professor, researcher and colleague Marcos Soriano, had the opportunity to evaluate more than 200 lifters from more than 60 countries, achieving an unprecedented milestone in the history of weightlifting research. This was made possible thanks to the collaboration of @hawkindynamics and its cutting-edge technology measuring human movement.
Organisers and participants agree that this edition of the championships was an unforgettable experience, celebrating not only physical strength, but also the camaraderie and sportsmanship that unites lifters from around the world.
