30 de April de 2025The Sports Science Research Centre of the Rey Juan Carlos University is pleased to announce the presentation of Dr. Brian Hanley from Leeds Beckett University. The lecture, entitled ‘Understanding running race strategies better using improved pacing profiles’, will take place on Monday 7 April, from 12:00 to 13:00 in the Salón de Actos of the Departmental Building I of the Fuenlabrada Campus.
About Dr. Brian Hanley:
Dr. Brian Hanley is Professor of Sport and Exercise Biomechanics at Leeds Beckett University. Brian lectures in the areas of Biomechanics and Sports Injuries and is actively involved in research into the science of athletics and human gait within the Sports Performance Centre at Leeds Beckett University. He is also one of the world’s leading researchers on the optimisation of tactical and pace management skills in middle and long distance runners.
Dr Hanley led the International Athletics Federation’s Biomechanics Research Projects at the 2017 World Championships in London and the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham. He is also the external consultant to European Athletics on their High Performance development programmes and has provided performance optimisation consultancy to athletes around the world in their preparation for global championships for the past 20 years.
