{"id":3942,"date":"2026-05-25T09:55:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T07:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cide.urjc.es\/?p=3942"},"modified":"2026-05-25T10:31:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T08:31:09","slug":"a-global-study-with-input-from-cide-warns-of-rising-breast-cancer-rates-and-inequalities-between-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cide.urjc.es\/en\/2026\/05\/25\/a-global-study-with-input-from-cide-warns-of-rising-breast-cancer-rates-and-inequalities-between-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"A global study, with input from CIDE, warns of rising breast cancer rates and inequalities between countries"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our colleague Daniel Collado from CIDE, has contributed to a new study by the Global Burden of Disease (GBD), published in <em>The Lancet Oncology<\/em>, on the prevalence and consequences of breast cancer worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study analyses data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023 and highlights significant inequalities between high- and low-resource countries, projecting an increase in cases and deaths by 2050, particularly in low-resource countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the study identifies several modifiable risk factors associated with breast cancer.
